I received the call at around 3:30 am that they were headed to Labors of Love in Spartanburg. I told the mama to let me know the status once she arrived and I would make arrangements to get down there. Later that morning…I received another call that labor had stopped and they were heading home. I went about my day trying to get everything done because I knew I would be getting a call anytime.
Sure enough…at around 4:30 that afternoon I got the call that they were heading back. Not sure whether this was it or not, I waited for the confirmation that she was getting in the tub and made my way down. Of course…after being on call and ready for this baby girl all day, what do you think I found when I arrived?? Not a laboring mother…but a sweet newborn baby girl!
Sometimes that is the way it goes. Birth photography is not a predictable event. Obviously when a mother books me for their birth, their is always the chance that I won’t make it in time. Usually though, there is plenty of time to spend with a laboring mother on her special day…enjoy these few sweet images!
