Through the years, I have worked really hard to not only simplify my workflow for Sessions and Weddings but to improve it! Sometimes, I try new programs that make life easier and other times, it is just creating better systems to help me manage the delicate balance between life at home with children and a work-from-home business. As a result, better Workflow Systems have allowed me to improve my Image Turn-Around times as well!
Many times, people ask me how I keep up with it all. My short answer is Systems. That may seem like a really weird word for some, but it is what helps me remember what needs to be done and when. Each Session has a set System in place that is always the same. Granted, there are occasionally things that make a particular Session unique, but for the most part, 95% of the work I do is repeated each and every time I do a Session.
So, as a business owner, especially a Mom business owner working from home, Systems are a necessity to keep you sane and to help you work in the margins of your life. My work hours are often, first thing in the morning when I wake up and the girls are eating breakfast, during their naps, and in the evenings after they go to bed.
Without Systems, it would be hard for me to know what my next best step is for my Clients and my Business. To help Clients understand what to expect for the turn-around time of their Images, here are my normal time schedules.
