Today we took a few gifts for Nana & Papa to their house to open tomorrow for Christmas. I had talked with Josh about not telling Nana what was in the bag. Well…I guess just like everything else I say…he totally disregarded my instructions and promptly announced upon walking in the door that we had a bird feeder in the bag for Nana! The nerve…what does this little 3-year-old think he is doing?!?! Spoiling all the fun! I gave him a stern talking to about the importance of surprises…and told him she would get to see it tomorrow for Christmas! We were also fortunate that Nana was mixing icing with the mixer and didn’t hear a word he said. Whew! The cat was still in the bag!
I left a little bit later to run some errands and came home to bake cookies and to let Josh play on his new swing set from Nana & Papa (his early Christmas present since tomorrow is supposed to be rainy!). While he was outside Nana relayed a “funny” story to me. She said as soon as I left…Josh ran into the living room, grabbed her present and started tearing out the tissue paper hollering, “look Nana, it’s a house bird” (a little dyslexic in his excitement). She said she ran in there saying…No Josh…I don’t want to see it…it’s a surprise! LOL! What can I say…he is persistent.
I hope you all make sweet and savory memories this Christmas season…we sure are!
