PICU Baby Session | Asheville, NC Mission Hospital Baby Photographer

Oh my goodness, how I love to snuggle babies! This session was so precious…it was a race against the clock to get it in before this precious boy was transferred to Ohio to meet some specialists who will hopefully have him and Mommy back home in time for Christmas! Mommy had emailed asking for a Christmas session to use for Christmas cards…she said her boys had been born VERY early…like, born at 28 weeks, early! I immediately gave her the link to the organization that I work with called Tiny Footprints Project, that sends professional photographers into hospitals to photograph NICu and PICU babies. Both boys were able to go home, 4 months after delivery…but little B only got to stay there about 5 days before heading back to the hospital. Mom wanted to capture this time and be able to send out Christmas cards to family showing off her boys!

So…while at the session, shooting…we heard the sound of jingle bells…oh my goodness…my heart about stopped when I looked out and saw the best looking Santa I had ever seen! I asked if he would let us take some pictures and of course, he obliged. I had to fight back tears through the whole session because it was just so precious and I knew it meant so much to Mama! What a precious time we had!
