Return | Asheville, NC Baby Photographer Newborn

What a beautiful time away I have had…it seems like forever ago that I typed words on this screen. The time I have spent preparing for our little blessing and enjoying her has been priceless. I could never have predicted what these last weeks would bring to our little family…but, my heavenly Father knew and that is why He granted us this gift. The birth of a baby is truly a miraculous thing. To simply be the vessel the Lord uses to mold, shape and craft a little life is a miracle in itself…but, to constantly feel the gift of life growing inside of you with the kicks, hiccups, aches and pains is even more of a blessing.

We delivered our precious girl, JodiAnn Elizabeth Duncan, March 25th, 2014 at 10:34 am. She was 8 lbs. 11 oz and 21 inches long! We really thought we knew love. We thought as a family we had love. But, it is amazing how God stretches out your heart that much farther when a new little person comes along. I see it in my children…the way they greet her when they enter the room…their curiosity over dirty diapers, bath times, and outfit choices…the gentle way they kiss her forehead. It is so precious to see this new love bloom in each of us. My precious husband has grown a hundred times more handsome to me. To see your newborn in your husbands arms is like nothing else! Those arms that are the strength for your family, the holders of your heart, the protection from harm…tenderly loving and nurturing a baby…it is a gift in and of itself for a mother!

I have several sessions to blog next week, but I felt like I needed to share these personal moments with you first! I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with so many precious families and couples…it is truly a gift to capture the blessings in each and every life that the Lord sends our way!

Enjoy some iPhone pics of the last 5-6 weeks…Thankful, Thankful, Thankful!

Gift from God

I give thanks to You alone
Who sits on the throne
To loan me this precious gift
And to call it my own.

May I always see, Lord
In every waking hour,
Your majesty and grace
In this delicate flower.

Help me, O God,
To guide and preserve,
This wonderful blessing
to love and to serve.
