My blog is sometimes a neglected friend. At times it goes dark and quiet for a few days. At these times, my to do list is usually a mile long, my batteries are running low, and I find it hard to think of what to say. Today, I am not going to share an image…I am going to share a story.
Back in late June, my computer died. It was less that a year old and was still under HP’s warranty. I spent countless hours (actually, I did count…it was exactly 561 minutes) that I spent on the phone with HP. Through the process I really became frustrated many times. Being misunderstood, doing trouble shoots after trouble shoots, etc. They just couldn’t help me. Finally, I sent in my computer and it returned in working order. Yeah!
So, as anyone who has recently switched computers knows…it takes time to get programs loaded, settings saved, files archived, etc. It literally took me a week to get my info back where it needed to be. thankfully, I had bought a laptop to be my lifeline to my business during the transition.
Then, the unthinkable happened…my computer broke again. Seriously, I thought I was just going to have to throw it in the yard. I couldn’t stand the thoughts of going through all that again with HP. But, alas, I was now under Sam’s Club warranty…and this was sure to be a better experience. I called in…spent about an hour trouble shooting before they sent out a techie…to my home! Yeah! But, he couldn’t fix my problem…not after two trips here.
What is a girl to do. Seriously…I called all my friends and neighbors for advice and was finally told by a trusted friend that I should try to take it back. I said, “yeah right, they won’t take it back, its over a year old!” But, my Mom encouraged me to try too. So, I hit my knees and prayed earnestly that I could be effective in my argument to the point that they would at least understand my situation and possibly sympathize. I asked friends to pray…my Mom prayed.
Today…I pulled up at Sam’s with my unboxed computer in pieces with a list of dates, times, and events…I spoke with the manager calmly, shed a couple tears, and easily got ALL my money back. I am ecstatic. The Lord is so gracious and good. I have fought over, cried over, and prayed over this computer for 3 months…now, I can start fresh. I can try again. I can get a new computer that I can trust to be reliable for all my photographic adventures.
You don’t know how free this makes me. This computer has been holding me hostage…
Thanks for the airtime…I promise to have pics on tomorrow! It has been a busy week and I have lots more editing to do. Family session and wedding this weekend!! So excited!
