It seems so unreal to me that a year ago today I was getting ready to meet this sweet little girl. I honestly don’t know how time has gone by so quickly…I think about it and just want to ball my eyes out. Have I done this last year well? I feel like a complete failure in so many ways. I have kept a pretty clean home, washed tons of clothes, and worked with some amazing people…but, have I laughed enough with my children? Have we made messes and gotten dirty together? How many bubbles have I blown? How many flowers have we picked? Those things seem like they are in the “not enough” category!
I look back on this year and realize how tough it has been. Having 2 under 2 was incredibly hard. My husband started working full time for the first time since we have been married…right when I really needed him the most. We opted to start homeschooling again. Jubilee has hated food for months and still nurses A LOT…JodiAnn seems smarter than me most days and I really have to stay on my toes to keep up with her!
When I look at these pictures and think about this party…I see that I definitely had more time on my hands when I dreamed up JodiAnn’s party a little over a year ago. I can see why many parents struggle to take enough pictures of the second baby and I have worked so hard to make sure that I have kept up with Jubilee’s baby book. But, you know what, it has been a struggle!
I am still working really hard on balance. I am still no where near where I want to be. I have a God size vision for our life…and I honestly can’t see how it will all work. For the most part…all I can see are all the ways that I can mess it up! Yet, He is faithful and I am doing my very best to learn how to just submit to Him.
Jubilee, my little Ju Ju Bean…your presence in our home is absolutely remarkable. I never knew how much I needed you until you got here. You are my Mama’s girl…my little stinker…the one who keeps me wondering…and who constantly makes me smile. Most of the time when I feel like fussing or crying, your smile is what changes that all to laughs. Thank you sweet girl for the gift that you are! I can’t wait to see what God has in store for your amazing life my little anointed one!
